tattoo removal

Here  at Hooky's Tattoo Removal, I use an advanced YAG 1064 and 532 Q-switched laser.  This is able to effectively remove black, blue and dark inks, as well as the more difficult to treat red and yellow pigments. It's the only type of laser that is clinically effective for Tattoo Removal

HOW DOES TATTOO
REMOVAL WORK?

Laser tattoo removal works by using lasers that emit high-intensity light beams to break down the ink particles in the skin. These ink particles are then naturally eliminated by the body.

laser light creates a pressure wave that breaks down the ink particles.

Once the lasers have broken up the ink particles, the lymphatic system transports them to the liver. In the liver, enzymes break down the ink particles to then be eliminated through urine.

HOW MANY SESSIONS WILL I NEED?

It can take around 6 to 12 sessions to remove a tattoo with laser removal. The exact number of sessions depends on a number of factors, including things like the size and color of the tattoo and its placement on your body.

Some tattoos may go away after only 2 or 3 sessions, while others may take more than 12.

TATTOO PLACEMENT

Tattoos on fattier areas near your heart are easier to laser away than those on bony extremities, like your lower limbs, hands, or feet.

This is because your white blood cells pick up shattered ink particles from the laser and filter them out of your body through your lymphatic and vascular systems.

This happens faster in areas like your head, neck, and upper torso because your lymphatic and vascular systems are stronger there than in other parts of the body.

IMMUNE SYSTEM STRENGTH

The healthier you are, the faster your tattoo will fade.  With a compromised immune system (from medical conditions, certain medications like oral steroids, or treatments like chemotherapy) filter out the broken-down ink less efficiently, meaning it takes more sessions to remove a tattoo. People who smoke or have a sedentary lifestyle also usually require more sessions for full removal.

DOES TATTOO REMOVAL LEAVE SCARS?

The good news is that scarring is rare. If your tattoo is removed by an experienced practitioner at a reputable clinic, the risk of scarring is minimal. What’s more, there are additional steps that you can take to reduce the risk of scarring.

Aftercare advice will be given at your appointment for preventing laser tattoo removal scars.  if you want to prevent scars, follow every piece of advice they given.
